How do I pay my escrow shortage?

You can use digital banking for a fast, secure way to pay your escrow shortage. You can also pay your escrow shortage by phone, by mail or at any U.S. Bank branch.

To pay your shortage using digital banking

  1. Select your mortgage account from the dashboard and choose View and manage / View, pay & manage.
  2. Online banking: Choose Payment at the top of the page.
    U.S. Bank Mobile App: Open the main menu (three vertical dots), then choose Payment.
  3. Choose Other payment (found below the amount due). If you’re enrolled in autopay, first choose Make an additional payment, then Other payment.
  4. Enter the exact amount of your escrow shortage in the Additional Escrow field.
  5. Use the drop-down menu to choose which account you’d like to pay from.
  6. Change the payment date, if desired.
  7. When ready, select Submit payment.

To pay your shortage by phone

Call anytime to use our 24/7 automated phone system at 800-365-7772 and say something like “make escrow shortage payment”. If you prefer to speak with a banker, we're available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. CT and Saturday 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. CT. To pay your shortage by mail

Send your payment by regular mail to:

Please make checks or money orders payable to U.S. Bank National Association and include a note to explain the funds should go to the escrow shortage. See also: Where do I mail my mortgage payment?
